NC State Traditions

The Office of New Student Orientation (NSO) believes that every student, as part of the transition process of becoming an NC State student, should have an understanding of the university's rich history and traditions. In an effort to provide this information, NSO had previously created and hosted a traditions website. Since the creation of our site, other more thorough and detailed sites have been created so we have decided to take down our information and instead link to these informative sites.

For more information about NC State history and traditions, visit the below sites:

The Brick (http://students.ncsu.edu/thebrick/) - a student created publication that promotes student involvement while maintaining the University’s rich traditions. (Note: Beginning Summer 2011, each incoming student receives a copy of The Brick during New Student Orientation).

Historical State (http://historicalstate.lib.ncsu.edu/) - hosted by NCSU Libraries, this site includes events and activities that have occurred in the past at NC State, as well as historic photos, course catalogs, and online exhibits. You can explore the development of campus buildings, student life, the colleges, and the academic departments. Test your knowledge of NC State history in the "Did You Know?" section, or view a timeline to learn about the various activities happening around campus in a given year.
