New
Student Orientation Assessment
At NC State University,
assessment is considered an important tool that facilitates
discussion about academic and student programs and provides
useful information to guide continuous program improvement.
New Student
Orientation understands that asking questions about student
learning
and development is a shared commitment among faculty, administrators,
staff and students. New Student Orientation collaborates
each year with the Office of Assessment within the Division
of Undergraduate Academic Programs, to design and implement
a successful assessment plan.
Our assessment plan
allows us to provide specific student learning goals and
outcomes, to evaluate the extent to which students are reaching
those goals, and to evaluate the delivery of our services.
Most importantly, our assessment plans provide the opportunity
to use the information for program development and improvement.
Assessment information
collected from our constituents is shared with college and
academic units as well as co-curricular representatives.
Assessment reports include the following items:
- Executive summary
report
- Outline of student
ratings
- Outline of student
comments
- Outline of recommendations
Below are several
