New Student Orientation welcomes you to NC State University, a community of achievers rich in tradition and academic excellence. To assist you in becoming a part of this community, we invite you to attend a Transfer Orientation Session on one of the following dates:

At Transfer Orientation, you will:
- Meet with representatives from your college for advising information
- Learn about the online Registration & Records system
- Be introduced to academic policies and academic support services
- Get your AllCampus card
- Learn about NC State campus life and explore ways to get involved
- Find out where to go for help in the future
- Socialize with other transfer students
Orientation is mandatory for all transfer and former NC State lifelong education students.

About the Program
Check-in is from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m. in the North Gallery, 2nd floor of the Talley Student Center, which is located on Cates Avenue. You must check in to receive your Information Packet and program schedule. After check-in, meet fellow NC State students and enjoy the morning refreshments provided by New Student Orientation.
The morning program will begin promptly at
9:00 a.m. in Stewart Theatre, which is located on the 2nd floor. You will be introduced to the NC State academic community and support services.
Following lunch at Fountain Dining Hall, afternoon sessions will include presentations by Registration & Records, the Office of Information Technology, Transportation, and the Cashier's Office, as well as meetings with your college or academic
department and advising and registration assistance. Plan on a 4:00 p.m. departure.

Register to Attend Orientation
Complete and return the Orientation Registration Form on the last page of this packet or register online via the Orientation website: www.ncsu.edu/orientation.
Parents and family members are welcome to attend Transfer Orientation.
If you are not able to attend Transfer Orientation on July 9 or July 30, a Late Orientation will be held Monday, August 18. However, advising
and registration assistance is very limited at this Orientation. Please contact New Student Orientation at 919.515.1234 should you need to
attend the Late Orientation.

Cost of New Student Orientation
A Transfer Orientation fee of $45 is charged to all transfer students, regardless of your attendance at Orientation. This fee is included in your tuition and fees statement. Do not send payment to New Student Orientation.

Foreign Language Placement Test
All students who need to be placed in French, Spanish, German, or Latin may go to the Foreign Language Technology Center, which is open from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. It is located on the corner of Current and Stinson Drives, near Riddick Parking Lot. The computerized test takes 25-30 minutes and the results are available immediately. For all other languages, or if you have questions, contact the Associate
Department Head, Dr. Dudley M. Marchi, at dmm@unity.ncsu.edu .
International students who need to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) should follow the information from the Office of International Services.

Parking
Students will be allowed to park on campus in the Reynolds Coliseum Parking Deck located on Cates Avenue. Please place the Orientation Parking Permit on the dashboard of your vehicle so that Transportation officers will know you are attending Orientation. The permit is available under the Orientation Parking link.
Do not park in designated “Accessible,” AV, RD, SV, AS, or any other reserved parking spaces listed on the enclosed parking permit. Do not park in metered spaces or in a pay lot.

To Do List
- Contact your academic adviser prior to attending Orientation
- Confirm that Admissions has received your academic transcripts
- Frequently check your email account on file with NC State for announcements and your tuition bill
- Complete and submit your immunization form
- Bring a photo ID with you to Orientation so you can get an AllCampus Student ID card made

How to
Get to NC State
Due to construction projects in and around campus, please
visit the NC State Transportation website at www.ncsu.edu/transportation prior to attending Orientation for updates on road closings
etc.
From I-95 South (New York)
Take I‑95 South to Exit 138, US-64 West toward Nashville/Raleigh. Take Exit 419, US-440 toward US-1/Wake Forest. Continue on US-440 to Western Boulevard, Exit 2 toward NC State University. Pass through the sixth stop light, then turn left onto Pullen Road. Turn left onto Dunn Avenue, and follow the Orientation Parking signs.
From Chapel Hill via I-40: Take I-40 East approximately 25 miles to Raleigh. At the I-40/Wade Avenue split, stay on I-40 East to Gorman Street, Exit 295. Turn left onto Gorman Street and follow it to the third traffic light. Turn right onto Avent Ferry Road. Turn right onto Western Boulevard and take the first left onto Pullen Road. Turn left onto Dunn Avenue and follow the Orientation Parking signs.
From Durham via US 70: Take US 70 to downtown Raleigh (US 70 turns into Glenwood Avenue). Follow Glenwood Avenue to Oberlin Road. Turn right onto Oberlin Road (approximately 3 miles). Turn right onto Hillsborough Street. Take an immediate left at Pullen Road. Turn right onto Dunn Avenue and follow the Orientation Parking signs.
From Rocky Mount via US 64:
From Rocky Mount via US-64: Take US 64 West toward Raleigh. Take Exit 419, US-440 toward US-1/Wake Forest. Continue on US-440 to Western Boulevard, Exit 2 toward NC State University. From South Carolina via I-95: Take I-95 North to I-40 West. Proceed on I-40 West into Raleigh to Gorman Street Exit 295. Turn right onto Gorman Street and then right at the second traffic light onto Avent Ferry Road. Turn right onto Western Boulevard and take the first left onto Pullen Road. Turn left onto Dunn Avenue and follow the Orientation Parking signs.
