Pre-Orientation Information
What do I need to do before starting at NC State in the fall?
A comprehensive checklist of items to complete before starting at NC State can be found on the New Student Website, along with other resources to assist with your transition.

I have not been officially admitted to the University, can I register for a Summer Transfer Orientation session?
No. You can not register for a Summer Transfer Orientation until you have been admitted and confirmed your intention to enroll at NC State University by paying the $200 Advanced Enrollment Deposit.You can check the status of your application on your WolfPAW account. Should you need to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions regarding your application status you can reach them by phone at 919.515.2434 or via email at undergrad-admissions@ncsu.edu.

When will I register for classes?
Students should contact their academic advisor prior to attending Orientation to discuss your registration options. Unless your college has instructed you otherwise, you can find your academic advisor contact information at http://www.ncsu.edu/orientation/transfer/courseregistration.php.

What is my student ID number?
Your student ID number is a number that is assigned to you upon receipt of your application for admission to NC State. You can view your student ID number on your WOLFPAW Application Status Screen.

What email address does the University use to communicate with me?
Be aware that your email is going to your personal address (the one you included on your application to NC State) until early August. After that, all incoming email will automatically be sent to your Unity or campus-based email address. To check your Unity mail, access the university Gmail system at http://gmail.ncsu.edu and log in with your Unity ID and password.

General Orientation Information
Is Orientation mandatory?
Orientation is a very important element of the transition into college and the majority of the Orientation program has mandatory attendance. If you have a time conflict, contact the Office of New Student Orientation at 919.515.1234 or email us at orientation@ncsu.edu.

Is there a fee for Transfer Orientation?
Yes. The New Student Orientation fee for transfer students entering in the summer or fall is $54. This fee covers the costs of Orientation and is included in the Tuition and Fees Statement you will receive by email from the University’s Cashier’s Office. This is a mandatory fee charged to all incoming students regardless of your attendance at Orientation.

What are the Transfer Orientation dates?
The Transfer Orientation program takes place on Friday, June 27, 2014, Friday, July 11, 2014, Friday, July 18, 2014, and Monday, July 21, 2014.

How do I register for Transfer  Orientation?
You can register for Transfer Orientation online from your WolfPAW account at http://wolfpaw.ncsu.edu. For directions on registering for Transfer Orientation, feel free to click here.

Do I get a confirmation that I registered for Orientation?
Yes. An email will be sent to your personal address (the one you included on your application to NC State) and to your WOLFPAW account.

Which Transfer Orientation session should I attend?
Any transfer student entering the university in the summer or fall may attend either one of the Transfer Orientation dates, except Agricultural Institute students who may not register for the Friday, June 27th session and College of Textiles students who may not register for the Monday, July 21st session.

Which Transfer Orientation session should an International Student attend?
Any transfer international student should plan on attending an Orientation session August 13-15, 2014. Therefore, you are not required to attend an orientation session in July. More information will be emailed to you specific to the August 13-15 Orientation session.

How do I change my Transfer Orientation date?
You may change the Orientation session you have registered for if space is available on your WolfPAW account at http://wolfpaw.ncsu.edu.

What happens if I can not attend a Transfer Orientation session?
Contact New Student Orientation as soon as possible by phone at 919.515.1234 or via email at orientation@ncsu.edu to discuss your conflict.

Can I register for classes at Transfer Orientation?
Students should contact their academic advisor prior to attending Orientation to discuss your registration options. Unless your college has instructed you otherwise, contact your academic advisor prior to attending Orientation. Do I get a confirmation that I registered for Orientation?
Yes. An email will be sent to your personal address (the one you included on your application to NC State) and to your WOLFPAW account.

If I need special accommodations during Orientation, what office should I contact?
Anyone needing assistive services or special accommodations at Orientation must contact Lori Wilson at 919.515.1234 or via email at orientation@ncsu.edu at least 10 (ten) business days before your Orientation session.

Can I bring my parents or a friend to Transfer Orientation?
Transfer Orientation is designed for incoming students. If you have parents or family members who are interested in attending Orientation with you, they are encouraged to come along and attend Parents’ Orientation.

Parents' Orientation runs in conjunction with the student's program and is designed to introduce families to the academic programs and special services available at NC State. Go to www.ncsu.edu/orientation/transfer_parents to register or call 919.515.1234 for more information.

I am about to start taking classes in the Non-Degree Studies (formerly Life Long Education) program. What Orientation do I attend?
The Orientation program offered by New Student Orientation is for degree seeking students.  Students in the Non-Degree Studies (NDS) program should visit the NDS website at http://www.ncsu.edu/nds and review the resources available.  NDS students will also receive an email upon admission with guides and links on enrollment, payment, transportation, and other important information.

Transfer Orientation Program Information
What should I bring to Orientation?
It is suggested that transfer students bring the following items:
*Orientation Parking Permit
*Comfortable clothes/sneakers - you will be doing a lot of walking
*Book Bag
*Pen and paper
*Valid driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID (to have your AllCampus ID made)
*Sweater or light jacket as the temperature of some buildings can vary across campus
*Any questions you may have about the campus or courses

What time and where will Orientation begin?
Check-in for Orientation is between 8:00a.m.-8:35a.m. in the Bragaw Activity Room, located on the first floor of Bragaw Residence Hall on Dan Allen Drive. You must check in to receive your materials and program schedule. Plan on a 5:00pm departure.

What will the schedule be like at Orientation?
Activities at Orientation will vary depending on your college, but a general schedule can be viewed online at www.ncsu.edu/orientation/transfer/activities.php.

Where should I park during Transfer Orientation?
On-campus parking is available in the Lee and West Lots located on Sullivan Drive.Print the parking permit located at www.ncsu.edu/orientation/transfer and place on the passenger side dashboard. The deck address is 2530 Sullivan Drive, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Will I receive my AllCampus card (Student ID) at Orientation?
Yes. Students will have the opportunity to get their picture taken for their AllCampus card at Orientation. Students must have a valid picture ID with them in order to get their card.
