As a service organization created to protect and promote the discoveries of NCSU researchers, the Office of Technology Transfer provides the following services to the NCSU community:

What We Do	How We Do It
Protect All University Intellectual Property (IP) including: technology inventions plant varieties software copyrightable works	Evaluate inventions for patentability Administer the Intellectual Property Committee Negotiate IP Agreements license and option agreements material transfer agreements confidentiality agreements
Commercialize New Technologies	Match available university technologies to industry needs Provide marketing materials for inventors Create and maintain key industry contacts
Support Start Up Companies	Provide legal support and licensing agreements for start up companies based on university research
Provide IP Outreach and Education	Administer policies and procedures related to IP issues Arrange innovation forums and networking events
Business Compliance	Administer royalties associated with revenue generated from University IP Government compliance Licensee diligence

The mission of the Office of Technology Transfer is to move academic discovery to the marketplace resulting in new products, processes, and companies while maximizing the impact of academic research and forging new partnerships to tackle 21st century issues.
