Trail Descriptions


SC-ON-1     Hammocks Beach Canoe Trail, 3 Miles
Skill Level: Novice Difficulty: Moderate Time Required: 3-6 Hours
The Hammocks Beach Canoe Trail offers the paddler the opportunity to paddle through the salt marsh estuary between the mainland and island facility of the park. The trail begins at the mainland boat ramp at Hammocks Beach State Park and will take you to the northern end of Bear Island. Hammocks Beach State Park has campsites available on the northern end of Bear Island. You must contact the park office to register and pay the fee to use them. SC-ON-2     Huggins Island Trail, 6 Miles
Skill Level: Novice Difficulty: Moderate Time Required: 3-6 Hours
The Huggins Island Trail begins at the mainland boat ramp at Hammocks Beach State Park and will take you to Huggins Island. The trail will take you by several smaller shoal islands that are inhabited by a variety of birds and other wildlife.
