Trail Descriptions


SC-BR-26     Intracoastal Waterway/Holden Beach South Trail, 6.3 Miles (Round Trip)
Skill Level: Intermediate Difficulty: Moderate Time Required: 3-6 Hours
From the N. C. Wildlife Resources Commission's Boat Ramp located under the NC Highway 130 Bridge, paddle south with the Intracoastal Waterway along the south shore of the mainland. At approximately the 5.6 mile point, turn northwest across the mouth of the Shallotte River to Tripp's Fishing Center located on Shallotte Point.

Note: As you paddle this trail be aware that large, fast moving boats use the Intracoastal Waterway.
