From the boat ramp at the end of Varnamtown paddle up Lockwoods Folly River as far as you desire. As you approach the 8.7 mile point you will cross under the NC Highway 211 bridge. Currently there is no official access site located at this bridge crossing. Just past the nine mile point, Beaverdam Creek empties into the Lockwoods Folly River and offers a 1.2 mile side trip. You can continue on up the River into it headwaters, where it becomes impassable.
Note: There are currently no access sites above Varnamtown, therefore, your outing should include enough time to go up the river and back to the ramp in Varnamtown within your allotted time.
