Duties: Perform educational research, serve as instructor for undergraduate and graduate classes in MSTE, develop program curriculum, advise graduate and undergraduate students in the Science Education program, supervise research of masters and doctoral level students, seek and administer grants.

 

North Carolina State University, Health Occupations Education, 1998-2000

Duties:   Coordinate program, perform educational research, serve as instructor for 9 undergraduate and 5 graduate ECI classes, develop program curriculum, increase availability of coursework through distance education, advise undergraduate students in the Health Occupations Education Program, advise Health Occupations lateral entry teachers associated with the university, supervise research of masters and doctoral level students, seek and administer grants.

Teaching duties:   International Baccalaureate Chemistry I, II, and III, dual-enrolled chemistry and biochemistry instructor.  Other courses taught:  Biology I and II, anatomy and physiology, executive internship class for health occupations students completing clinical rotations, directed individual study class for health occupations students, regular and honors chemistry.

Administrative duties as Coordinator of Health Occupations Academy:  student recruiting and scheduling, teacher assignments, room assignments, grant writing, budgeting, curriculum development, community outreach, public relations, teacher training, liaison with Florida Department of Education, textbook purchasing, equipment procurement.

Teaching duties:  Instructor of 7th and 8th grade general science,  both honors and regular levels.

Administrative duties as Science Department chair:  teacher assignments, room assignments, formulate and maintain chemical and equipment inventories, textbook selection, schedule lab facilities use,  coordinate visits to and develop curriculum for local marine science station, organize and supervise school science fair.  Also served as chairperson of Awards Committee for Regional Science Fair.
