July 12, 2004 – Archived Version (Effective July 12, 2004 through November 15, 2007) - Revised to update the policy and to incorporate suggestions contained in a model drug testing policy drafted by the Office of the President’s Office of Legal Affairs following a review of institutional drug testing policies and input from campus drug testing coordinators. The proposed revisions strengthen the goals and objectives of the program and clarify the hearing process and sanctions that are available for violation of the policy. The testing protocol is taken out of the main policy language and made part of the appendix; the due process procedures are clarified for sanctions that are less than suspension and attorney participation is deleted; rehabilitation and counseling are made permissible, not a right or mandate and may be required as a sanction; and sanctions for violations of the policy are clarified.

November 16, 2007 Current Version - Updated policy to addrroid abuse and to more clearly define various sanctions for violations of policy.
