As an agency of the state of North Carolina, NC State University is required to follow various federal and state laws and regulations, as well as policies and regulations of the University of North Carolina.

1. PURPOSE

1.1. The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires employers to receive certification of a new employee’s identity and employability via an I-9 form.

2. COVERED EMPLOYEES

2.1. All new temporary, permanent, SPA (staff), and EPA employees are covered by this policy.
