1. INTRODUCTION

Robert H. Buckman and Joyce A. Mollerup established the Buckman Professorship to support research and education in paper "wet-end chemistry" in the Department of Wood and Paper Science at NC State University. This rule describes the procedure to award this professorship and is in agreement with the terms of the endowment.

2. PROCEDURE

2.1. Head of the Department of Wood and Paper Science identifies faculty member who possess the credentials to carry out research and education in wet-end chemistry as it relates to papermaking.

2.2. Head recommends to the Dean of the College of Natural Resources that this faculty member be awarded the Buckman Professorship.

2.3. Upon Dean's approval, the Head notifies the faculty member of the award.

2.4. If the incumbent retires, resigns, or takes different responsibilities in the department, the professorship will be relinquished and awarded to a new eligible faculty member.
