As an agency of the state of North Carolina, NC State University is required to follow various federal and state laws and regulations, as well as policies and regulations of the University of North Carolina. 1. Purpose Sick leave allows an employee to recover from personal illness, injury, or disability that prevents performance of usual duties. 2. Covered Employees Full-time and part-time permanent SPA (Staff) employees, persons in time-limited appointments, trainees, and probationary employees are covered by this policy. Permanent EPA employees who are .500 fte or greater and are employed on a 10, 11 or 12 month contract and Research Associate (Post doc), Teaching Associate (Post doc), (Post doc) Intern and Resident (Post doc) Employees. |
