1. Reviews of Academic Administrators: Faculty Involvement in the Annual and
the Five-Year Reviews of the Provost and Vice Chancellor and the Programs
and Leadership of the Office of the Provost
1.1 The annual review of the provost and vice chancellor is the responsibility
of the chancellor. As one feature of each such review, the chancellor shall
meet twice with the Executive Committee of the Faculty Senate, the first
time to hear any concerns or issues that should be addressed in the review
process and the second time to report on the results of the review.
1.2 In addition to the annual reviews, at intervals not greater than five
years from the initial appointment of the provost and vice chancellor or
from the date of the previous periodic review, the chancellor shall consult
with the Executive Committee of the Faculty Senate and with the provost
and vice chancellor in the development of a survey instrument designed to
elicit feedback on the leadership of the provost and vice chancellor and
the associate and assistant provosts.
1.3 The survey instrument together with a statement on the mission, the strategic
position, and the program goals and objectives of the Office of the Provost
shall be distributed to all members of the Faculty Senate and to all members
of university committees that advise the provost and vice chancellor either
directly or through an associate or assistant provost, a director, or a
coordinator.
1.4 The individual responses to this survey shall be submitted directly to
the chancellor and shall be considered as a part of the input to the chancellor
for the annual review of the provost and vice chancellor for that year.
1.5 As in the case of the annual reviews, the chancellor shall meet with
the Executive Committee of the Faculty Senate to report on the results of
the five-year review.
