As an agency of the state of North Carolina, NC State University is required to follow various federal and state laws and regulations, as well as policies and regulations of the University of North Carolina.

1. Purpose

A salary range revision is a change in the salary grade assigned to a classification or class series. The change may be based upon salaries in the labor market, adverse trends in recruitment and retention data, or increased complexity in job content. Salary range revisions are approved by the State Personnel Commission and affect all positions and employees in the specified class(es).

2. Covered Employees

Full time and part-time permanent SPA (Staff) employees, persons in time-limited appointments, trainees, and probationary employees are covered by this policy.
