1. INTRODUCTION:
The Computer Training Unit (CTU) criteria for cancellation from a course,
registration/fee refunds, and process for rescheduling a course or class sessions.
2. REQUIREMENTS:
The following outlines important course fee and lab rental information applicable
to participants as well as training planners/coordinators.
2.1. CTU maintains course cancellation and rescheduling practices under two
(2) categories:
2.1.1. Individual course fees valued up to $1,998.00:
2.1.1a. Refunds for paid registrants:
If an individual is unable to attend the course, the individual must
cancel the registration at least ten (10) calendar days prior to the
first day of the scheduled class to receive a full refund.
Individuals who cancel between five (5) to nine (9) calendar days in
advance are eligible to receive a refund less a $25 administrative fee.
Cancellations made within four (4) calendar days are not eligible for
a refund.
Refunds, without accrued interest, are processed in 4-6 weeks or less.
2.1.1b. Rescheduling opportunity for paid registrants:
Only those registrants who contact CTU prior to the start date of the
initial offering qualify for this reschedule option. Registrants have
the opportunity to retake the course within ninety (90) days of the
original course.
2.1.2. Individuals who wish to reschedule/transfer to a future date, must
do so more than four (4) calendar days before the start date of the
original offering to avoid a $25.00 rescheduling/transfer fee.
Individuals contacting CTU less than four (4) calendar days in advance
of the course will be responsible for an additional $25.00 rescheduling/transfer
fee.
Participants will be charged for any price differential in course reference/handout
material.
2.1.2. Individual course fees valued at $1,999.00 and above:
2.1.2a. Refunds for paid registrants:
If an individual is unable to attend the course, the individual must
cancel the registration at least fifteen (15) calendar days prior to
the first day of the scheduled class to receive a full refund.
Individuals who cancel between five (5) and fourteen (14) calendar
days in advance are eligible for a 75% refund or credit.
Cancellations made within four (4) calendar days are not eligible for
a refund.
Refunds, without accrued interest, are processed in 4-6 weeks or less.
2.1.2b. Rescheduling opportunity for paid registrants:
Only those individuals who contact CTU prior to the start date of
the initial offering qualify for this reschedule option. Registrants
have the opportunity to retake the course within one (1) year of the
original course.
Individuals contacting CTU less than seven (7) calendar days in advance
of the course will be responsible for an additional $100.00 rescheduling/
transfer fee.
Participants will be charged for any price differential in course reference/handout
material.
2.2. Rescheduling/transferring to a course of lower price will result in a
credit on future courses only. No refunds will be given when there is a
pricing difference.
2.3. "No-Show" status constitutes enrollment and full registration
fee responsibility.
2.4. Individuals who wish to withdraw from a course after attending any portion
must submit in writing the request and reason for requesting the withdrawal.
These individuals will be issued a proportional refund based on the following
criteria:
2.4.1. One - 24% class sessions held - eligible for a 75% refund or credit.
Absence from a class constitutes enrollment.
2.4.2. Twenty-five percent (25%) or higher - no refund or credit will be issued;
individual may retake class within one (1) year.
2.5. All individuals finishing their original course will be allowed one (1)
retake at no charge. Retakes for non-certification courses are allowed to
be taken within ninety (90) days after the completion of the original course.
Retakes for certification courses will be allowed to be scheduled ninety
(90) days after the completion of the original workshop/class and will be
effective for one year. Individuals retaking the course will only pay for
the material, if it has changed.
2.6. To be eligible for refresher courses or the retake option, an individual
must attend at least 90% of the original course. Attendance in at least
90% of class sessions is also a requirement to earn CEUs.
2.7. If CTU cancels a course, every effort will be made to reschedule the registrants
or full reimbursement of paid registration fees will be made.
2.8. Individuals applying for financial loans are not considered fully registered
until the loan is approved.
2.9. Software is not included with any NC State Computer Training Unit class.
2.10. Occasionally, classes may extend beyond their scheduled end date due to
unforeseen circumstances.
2.11. Any deviation from publicized day or time of class will require a favorable
vote by all enrolled participants.
