1. The Students Supply Stores of North Carolina State University is approved
in accordance with General Statutes 66-58(c)(3), as amended, to operate in
conformity with the following requirements:
1.1 Profits from the operation shall be used exclusively for awarding scholarships
to defray the expenses of students attending the institution;
1.2 The merchandise sold shall be limited to educational materials and supplies,
gift items, and miscellaneous personal-use articles;
1.3 Sales are limited to employees of the institution and members of their
immediate families, to duly enrolled students and their immediate families,
and to other persons who are on campus other than for the purpose of purchasing
merchandise from the Students Supply Stores;
1.4 No off-campus advertising by the store nor mail order purchases by other
than enrolled students and employees and their immediate families is permitted;
1.5 No discounts below stated shelf prices are to be offered any individual
or class of persons but are permitted to University departments who buy in
quantity;
1.6 The Students Supply Stores shall not be used as an agency for special
orders of any item at wholesale prices on behalf of any individual buyer;
1.7 An annual audit shall be performed by an independent firm and copies
of the audit report sent to the Officers of North Carolina State University,
the Board of Trustees, the Chairman of the Students Supply Stores Committee,
and to the principle officers of Student Government;
1.8 The allocation of profits, as certified by the Vice Chancellor for Finance
and Business, between general scholarship aid and athletics grants-in-aid
shall be made annually by the Chancellor.
2. The Students Supply Stores shall be operated by a manager responsible to
the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business; and the Vice Chancellor for
Finance and Business shall be advised with respect to merchandising policies
by a committee of faculty and students appointed by the Chancellor.
