emergency response form Public Safety, Fire Protection, and Raleigh Fire Department.
3. Procedure:
3.1 Facilities Operations, Construction Management, and Building Liaisons are

or staff wishing to schedule a fire alarm disconnect must submit ALL disconnect
requests through their Building Liaison.
3.2 To schedule a fire alarm disconnect, the following steps must be executed
in the order shown below. Fire Alarm disconnects will be performed during
the normal working hours of 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Exceptions
must receive prior approval from the Electronics Shops before submitting the
request.

Request should be sent to the Customer Service Center (Rm. 128 Morris Bldg.,

3.4 The Electronics Shop will investigate the request, then e-mail NC State
Fire

disconnected and the duration of the disconnect.
3.5 Upon approving the disconnect request, NC State Fire Protection will e-mail
the Service Center with the specific disconnect information.
3.6 The Service Center will then notify the appropriate building users of the
disconnect and will also e-mail Public Safety, the Electronics Shop, and the
original initiator of the request that the disconnect has been scheduled.
Note: If at any point during the disconnect process one of the scheduling parties
encounters a problem scheduling the requested disconnect, the initiator will
be notified. Submission of a new fire alarm disconnect request may be necessary.
