First Issued:

November 10, 1979 Archived Version (Effective November 10, 1979 through November 2, 1984)

Revisions:

November 3, 1984 Archived Version (Effective November 3, 1984 through November 14, 1996) - provides 120 day time frame for completing appeals

November 15, 1996 Archived Version (Effective November 15, 1996 through November 20, 1997) - updates appeals procedure as required by Board of Governors policies

November 21, 1997 Archived Version (Effective November 21, 1997 through September 17, 1998) - reformatted policy.

September 18, 1998 Archived Version (Effective September 18, 1998 through July 13, 2003) - Amended to conform to delegated authority of committee so that if Chancellor's decision is overturned, full board makes the decision. Other clarifying amendments also made.

July 14, 2003 Archived Version (Effective July 14, 2003 through September 18, 2008) - These revisions update the current procedures to reflect changes previously made by the Board of Trustees to the EPA grievance procedure. The changes also reflect current practices regarding responsibility for compiling the record on appeal, scheduling the hearing date, and otherwise processing the appeal. Deletion of the description of what constitutes the record on appeal is proposed because this is currently addressed in the EPA grievance procedure. Addition of the Chancellor's designee permits the Chancellor to delegate responsibility for grievance decisions. Other revisions are for clarification and consistency. Revised Sections: 1; 1.1, 1.2, 1.3; 2.1; 2.2; 3.1; 3.2; 3.3.2; 3.3.3; 4.1; 4.1.1; 4.1.2; 4.1.3; 4.1.4; 4.1.5; 4.3; 7.1; and 7.2.

September 19, 2008 Current Version - Revised to update procedures to conform with changes to BOG policy governing appeals; and to also make minor clarification edits. [Applicable for appeals filed after September 19, 2008]
