Honorary Degrees Committee.
July 14, 2003 Archived Version -
Proposed revisions are intended to enhance the Honorary Degree nomination
process by providing the NC State community with multiple avenues for bringing
forth nominations to the Board of Trustees. The proposed revisions strengthen
the role of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
and expand the role of faculty in the honorary degree nomination process.
An all-faculty committee, chaired by the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor,
would replace the current the Faculty-Trustees Honorary Degree Committee.
The Provost would lead the faculty in development of honorary degree nominations,
and would present the Committee's recommendations to the Academic Affairs
and Personnel Committee. Revised Sections: 1.1;2.1; 2.2; 2.3; 2.4; 2.5;
3.1; 3.2; 3.3; 3.4; and 4.1.
