Welcome to the 2007 4-H Congress Media Materials Page. From this page, you should be able to download a suggested press release about the participation of 4-H'ers from your county at congress as well as pictures of 4-H'ers from your county who were honored during congress.
Pictures were taken during congress of Honor Club inductees, gold medal presentation winners and the top 10 finishers in the Fashion Revue. If a young person from your county was among these winners, then there should be a suggested press release and picture (assuming the 4-H'er had his or her picture taken) available below. If 4-H'ers from your county were not among the winners listed above, then we don't have anything for your county.
Directions for Downloading Pictures

To see a picture, double click on the caption - the caption is the name of the county and the last name of the
4-H'er. The picture may appear rather large on your screen, but that's ok. -
To download the picture, right click your mouse anywhere in the picture. A list of possible actions should appear. Included in the list should be some type of "save" action, such as "save image as," "save link as," or "save target as."

Left click on the save image command. A box should appear that will allow you to select where you want to save the picture. You should save the picture as a jpeg.

You may also use the "save as" command in the file menu on your browser to download the picture. With the picture on the screen, go to the file menu and select the save as command. Then save the picture as a jpeg. You should be able to email the jpeg to your local newspapers.

To return to the main page, click the "back" button on your browser.

Follow basically the same procedure to download your suggested press release. Just move your mouse over the press release caption, then right click. You should get some type of save as command. You may also download pictures in this manner, but you won't be able to view them first.

After you've downloaded the suggested press release and pictures, we suggest you read over the release carefully to make sure it's accurate, add any information you think pertinent, then email the release and pictures to your local newspaper or newspapers as quickly as possible. News release templates you may use to email information to local media are available online as part of the Extension Marketing Toolkit. If you have any trouble getting the information to your local paper electronically, you can always just give the paper this URL and ask the paper to download the material.
Be sure you identify the kids in the pictures, especially in the photos with more than one 4-H'er.
