N.C. State, N.C. Turfgrass Council present statewide turfgrass conference

WHAT:
North Carolina State University and the Turfgrass Council of North Carolina will host the 2008 North Carolina Turfgrass Conference and Show. The four-day event will be packed with informational seminars, a trade show, pesticide license training, a sports turf athletic field tour and social activities.

The seminars will cover a variety of topics related to sod production and golf, landscaping and sports turfgrass. Aquaculture, insect, weed and disease specialists also will present sessions on current pest management practices.

Special focus groups will allow turfgrass professionals the opportunity to discuss issues facing the industry - especially the current drought and water restrictions - with faculty from N.C. State University's top-rated turf program.

Participants will be able to earn North Carolina Turf Pest Management credits as well as Golf Course Superintendents Association points.

WHERE:
The conference will take place at the Hilton North Raleigh, 3415 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, N.C.

WHEN:
January 7-10, 2008

COST:
A number of conference packages are available, ranging from $45 to $200. Tickets to individual social or educational activities may be purchased separately. Discounted rates are available until Dec. 21.
