NC State Turfgrass Field Day is August 13

A Turfgrass Field Day at which agricultural scientists from North Carolina State University will discuss the latest research involving turfgrass is scheduled for Aug. 13 at Sandhills Research Station in Jackson Springs, N.C.

The field day begins at 8:45 a.m., with registration starting at 8 a.m. It will feature presentations by researchers from the NC State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences on a variety of topics related to turfgrass.

Among topics to be discussed are: grass selection for drought and other stressors; insect, pest and weed management; irrigation technologies and water conservation; and comparisons of different cultivars. The field day also will include a putting contest and lunch.

Registration for the field day is $25 for members of the Turfgrass Council of North Carolina; $30 for non-members; $10 for students; and free for N.C. Cooperative Extension agents.
