The NCSU College of Education Media Center is the curriculum material center for the College of Education providing educational resources such as books, journals, textbooks, reserves, kits, and technology in support of our preservice teachers and education faculty. The media center maintains a collection of K-12 literature as well as current state-adopted K-12 textbooks and focuses on providing professional resources for both students and faculty. Additionally, it provides equipment for checkout to education and psychology faculty and students. Instructors from other departments who have classes in Poe may check out equipment on an hourly basis for use within the building.
Affiliated with the NCSU Libraries, the College of Education Media Center collection is accessible through the D.H. Hill online catalog. The Media Center serves as a tripsaver location as well. To see what materials are available visit our collection page.
Staff is available to provide in-class or on-site orientations, training, and instruction sessions. Workshops in the use of equipment or software instruction for groups or individuals may be pre-arranged. Equipment checkout is limited to education and psychology students, faculty, and staff. To reserve or renew equipment contact nathan_stevens@ncsu.edu or anne_akers@ncsu.edu.
The media center is an open PC and Mac Unity lab with access to Wolfcopy print quota printers that include a b&w, a color, and a plotter (poster) printer (click here for more plotter information). There are flatbed and sheet-fed scanners, a Wolfcopy copier, and an Ellison die cutter available for student use.
After hours - books (NOT equipment) may be returned to D.H. Hill Library. |
