Grads entering Fall 2009
- Advisor Selection Form due by October 15, 2009.
- NC Residency documentation due by June 1, 2010 by all domestic, non-resident students. Do not wait until last minute to obtain documents. For a complete list of requirements and instructions please see the Grad School’s website.
- Research Advisory Committee selection along with Plan of Work due by July 31, 2010.
- Participation required in the Departmental Poster Session in March 2011. Date to be determined and will be announced.
- Four points in cumes due by May 2011.
- Preliminary Examination date or no later than October 15, 2011.
- Formal Department Seminar (Ph.D. only) required by December 31, 2012.
- Schedule Final Defense. Thesis/dissertation due to Advisory Committee TWO WEEKS PRIOR to final examination date.
- Apply for graduation through MyPack Portal.
- Electronic thesis/dissertation review with Thesis Editor occurs 24 hours AFTER approval of Final Defense AND committee signs the thesis/dissertation’s title page. Be sure to adhere to all posted deadlines found on the Electronic Thesis and Dissertation website. International students should verify all deadlines through the Office of International Services.
- Submit thesis/dissertation to the Thesis Editor in the Graduate School after successful completion of the final oral examination. Again, be mindful of all posted deadlines.
Grads entering Fall 2008
- NC Residency documentation due by June 1, 2009 by all domestic, non-resident students. Do not wait until last minute to obtain documents. For a complete list of requirements and instructions please see the Grad School’s website.
- Research Advisory Committee selection along with Plan of Work due by July 31, 2009.
- Participation required in the Departmental Poster Session in March 2010. Date to be determined and will be announced.
- Four points in cumes due by May 2010.
- Preliminary Examination date or no later than October 15, 2010.
- Formal Department Seminar (Ph.D. only) required by December 31, 2011.
- Schedule Final Defense. Thesis/dissertation due to Advisory Committee two weeks prior to final examination date.
- Schedule thesis/dissertation review with Thesis Editor (thesis_editor@ncsu.edu) upon approval of Final Defense. DO NOT wait until after the defense to schedule a review as it can delay graduation.
- Submit thesis/dissertation to the Thesis Editor in the Graduate School after successful completion of the final oral examination.
