The Thomas I. Hines Scholarship
The Board of Regents of the Revenue Sources Management School at Oglebay Park, Wheeling, West Virginia and NC State University established the Thomas I. Hines Scholarship in 1974 to honor Professor and Department Head Tom Hines. Professor Hines was a pioneering educator in the field of recreation resources administration and a long-time faculty member of NC State where he created and led what is now the PRTM Department for 31 years from 1947-1978.
This scholarship was established to assist graduate students enrolled in the department who have demonstrated special scholarship ability and interest in the programs offered by the PRTM Department. Selection of recipients will be made by the Department Head on the basis of academic ability, leadership, need, and character.
