Fire effects in paragrass invaded marshes - Myakka12 - 03-30-2012 11:05 PM

Does prescribed fire hasten paragrass invasion in shallow marshes or slow it down? I think I see more native plants in unburned paragrass-invaded marshes than those that are burned. Any other insights or research?

There is considerable information in the Fire Effects Information System about para grass, but much of it is observational rather than research - http://www.fs.fed.us/database/feis/plants/graminoid/uromut/all.html#Introductory - should still be helpful as there doesn't appear to be much in the research citations on the Tall Timbers Fire Ecology Database.
