ASCFG Cut Flowers of the Year

In 1999 the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers announced the first ASCFG Fresh Cut Flower of the Year and Dried Cut Flower of the Year. Since the first release, the resulting list of ASCFG Cut Flowers of the Year represent some of the best cut flowers in the industry. They were selected because they were reliable, productive and widely adapted. Most are typically field-grown but many are also grown in the greenhouse or hoophouse.

Each year the ASCFG Board of Directors reviews a list of nominations. These nominations include the top performing cultivars from the ASCFG National Cut Flower Trials and any other cultivars that have been suggested by the Board of Directors or ASCFG members. The Board whittles down the list to the top five, which are then subjected to a vote by the ASCFG membership. The top vote in each category, Fresh and Dried, is designated the ASCFG Cut Flowers of the Year.
