Anaphalis margaritacea 'New Snow'

Trial: Annual

Years Trialed: 1998

Good Qualities:

Excellent germination (2); Low, compact plant (2); Last long in vase; Nice filler; Nice white flowers; Drought tolerant; Flower dries well.

Problems:

Susceptible to root/crown rot (3); Rosetted; Short stems; Did not flower until very late.

Comments:

Flowered real late in the season so frost got before I did. What I was able to cut were great. Hope they do better next year. I'd like to use more as a filler, Bugs got most of my plants; I would try them again in a raised bed, as it is a great dried flower, whiter than the wild type; We have grown this crop here for a number of years. It is one of medium interest in the industry.
