Gomphrena 'All Around Purple'
Trial: Annual
Years Trialed: 2001
Good Qualities:
Good long-lasting color (4); Productive (2); Taller than similar cultivars (2); Great show, basal branching on each plant, very free-flowering, uniform color and heights; Long production season, still producing even in mid-September; Easy to grow, many blooms, dries well; Nice flower size; Strong grower; Good filler.
Problems:
Raw seed, poor germination (2); None (2); Little weak in stem but not too bad; Too short, too branchy; This plant (and all gomphrenas) will not grow for us B They just sit there- (wondering I guess where is the heat?) B It was a very cool growing season besides; Problem with worms later in season; Looks and acts like a lot of other tall purple gomphrenas.

Comments:
Similar to 'Qis Purple' (2); Rabbits like it, 2 day-vase life in tap water at room temperature; The flower color was exceptional; Took awhile to get going; Need a whole workshop on gomphrena picking, seems tricky.
