Matthiola 'Goldcut White'
Trial: Annual
Years Trialed: 1997
Good Qualities:
The doubles are a great, sweetly scented cut-very nice for early sales. Nice color; Excellent solid color, good stem length;
Problems:
As with any stock, there was only a single stem. Also, it would be helpful to be able to cull single flowers from the batch-They're too weak and seem to need more nutrition to thrive; Stock and I don't get along very well. I have yet to grow a marketable crop.

Comments:
Possible use as potpourri. Don't normally branch on their own, should try pinching next year. Because we didn't select and remove singles, we had a large amount of single stems--will watch for this in the future.
