Profile: I came into college with practically no idea or direction of what I wanted to do. I heard about the Anni Albers Scholars Program and transferred into it my sophomore year. I love the technicality and business aspect of textiles, but crave the creativity and expression of design. It gives my college career an overall focus of fabric and offers a wide range of knowledge that doesn’t leave me feeling like I would have only one career or specialty option after college. I am also pursuing a minor in Industrial Design. I work in the University Theatre as a technician during the school year. I studied in Prague, Czech Republic in Spring 2011. I worked in NYC for Richloom Fabrics Inc. as an intern designing woven home furniture fabrics in Summer 2011. My interests include: theatre, costuming, fashion, color theory, sculpting, fabric pattern design, beading, dying (hair and fabric), special effects makeup, fire spinning, and hooping.
