Hi, I am a poltergeist pale redhead writer who also does outreach for the transgendered community. I graduated from my beloved NCSU with a degree in Creative Writing and a minor in Japanese, and currently I please the ADD gods by doing a little bit of everything. Most recently I spoke at one of the world’s largest video game conferences, Penny Arcade Expo East, and I will be Miss April in lesbian news site Autostraddle’s 2013 Calendar.

I am incredibly honored to be a part of Larissa’s LOVESICK line. I will be “Breaking at the Seams,” the losing side of a war of attrition on love. Larissa’s line uses the grammar of glamour to pair color and design with torment we would all rather pretend we knew nothing about. Lights, camera, heartbreak. Join us for what promises to be one hell of a show.

So i’m making finishing touches on the muscle tissue dress. Very excited yet nervous at the same time! This has been a great experience and I can’t wait for Tuesday!

Ruffles and Shine!

My fifth look is inspired by muscle tissues. These knits are bulky and have pieces that interlock and wrap around eachother. I was able to use the machine to build up volume and then use hand knitting to make variations and interesting details. This should be fun!

I took on the challenge to embellish one of my tops with sequins. I love the effect and how it looks with the silver yarns in the other garments.

Alura Lanoza pursing one of the dreams she has had since she was a child; to become a Registered Nurse. At this point in time she is studying at Wake Technical Community College to work on her General Education courses. She hopes to go to UNC Chapel Hill for her Bachelor’s degree in the fall of 2013. When she isn’t studying or working, she enjoys singing, modeling, and spending time with her friends and loving boyfriend.

I am very grateful that Larissa asked me to be one of the models for her line, LOVESICK. I adore Larissa’s clothing designs. She has a strong meaning behind the clothes that many can relate to, if not now, then at some point in the future. My outfit is “Physical Sickness” and it displays all the physical ailments that come with lovesickness. Mental feelings can have such a physical impact when you catch the disease and Larissa has portrayed that very well in my outfit. I know the audience will enjoy LOVESICK for its emotional aspect as well as the designs that Larissa worked so hard on. I hope I can pull “Physical Sickness” off the way Larissa envisions it!
