Over 300 design students turned out for the annual Back-To-School BBQ on Aug. 20 behind Brooks Hall. Sponsored by the Design Guild (members are College of Design alumni and design enthusiasts), the event is a way to get the year started off festively and promote the Guild among the next generation of working designers. “These students are going to be the designers of the future, making important decisions for all of us,” says Craig McDuffie, president of the Design Guild. “With university budgetary issues, the college can only do so much. Any kind of additional funding that the Design Guild can provide enhances the education of these students so they can be the best designers possible.” To learn more, visit: design.ncsu.edu/alumni-friends/design-guild
