Contemporary Art Museum Celebration and Grand Opening set for April 29-30

The Contemporary Art Museum in Downtown Raleigh is set to open with a Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, April 29, 2011 beginning at 7 p.m. Honorary Chairs Dr. and Mrs. James Goodnight will be in attendance at the opening celebration which will feature a first look inside the museum and a lively street festival with food and entertainment.

The Opening Weekend will take place on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1, 2011 with museum hours from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. A ribbon-cutting will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30.

Free admission will be available throughout the opening weekend. and will include hands-on activities in the museum classroom, middle school student docents, and opportunities for visitors to interact with exhibition artists.
