Design Guild Dinner set for April 9, will honor Broadway costume designer William Ivey Long

Take your seat at the 14th Annual Design Guild Dinner.

Join the Design Guild of the NC State University College of Design on April 9, 2011, in Durham at the Nasher Museum of Art to honor William Ivey Long, a five-time Tony Award winning costume designer, and to celebrate ten years of the Art to Wear fashion show.

Long, who has received numerous awards and nominations for his illustrious career on Broadway, has a reputation of educating future designers and giving back to North Carolina communities. For example, Long has provided long-term support to the NC State Art to Wear fashion show organized by College of Design and College of Textile students. He has also partnered with the College of Design office of extension and engagement to revitalize his hometown of Seaboard, North Carolina.

The Design Guild award exists to recognize individuals such as Long who promote and nurture art and design as a fundamental aspect of our culture.

A reception will be at 7:00 p.m. with dinner starting at 7:30.
