NCMA Park Pictures Project Open to College Students for Submissions
The North Carolina Museum of Art invites college students to submit original ideas for our special, juried Park Pictures billboard project. Within NCMA’s vast 164-acre park, full of walking trails and sculptures, are three billboards that rotate semi-annually with images from professional artists. In conjunction with the El Anatsui exhibition, we will jury works from college artists for these billboards. Deadline for submissions is February 1, 2012 and while there will be only three projects chosen, all works will be published through http://ncmaparkpictures.tumblr.com.
Guidelines
Park Pictures consist of large-scale outdoor billboards, each measuring 5×12 feet. They are located at three different locations along the walking trails. The works are digitally printed on vinyl banner and affixed to the aluminum panels of the sign structures.
Procedure
Current college students who attended college Fall 2011 and incoming freshmen are allowed one submission. Artists may submit digital entries to the North Carolina Museum of Art at http://ncmaparkpictures.tumblr.com by February 1, 2012. There is no entry fee.
If selected…
