Dr. Liz Sanders of MakeTools visits campus for hands on workshop

Dr. Elizabeth Sanders, founder of MakeTools, a company that explores new spaces in the emerging design landscape visited the College of Design on November 11 for morning workshops and a public lecture.
An Associate Professor of Industrial Design at the Ohio State University, Dr. Sanders is a visionary in pre-design research, having introduced many of the tools, techniques and methods being used today to drive and/or inspire design from a human-centered perspective. Dr. Sanders has practiced co-designing across all design disciplines.
In a three hour intense workshop, she shared her passion in participatory, human-centered design thinking and co-creationg practices with Masters students in Industrial and Graphic Design during the Design Methods class (ID 582). Dr. Sanders also spoke to a larger audience in the afternoon during a public presentation about her learning experiences in human-centered design research and innovation for clients, colleagues and students around the world.
Dr. Sanders has a Ph.D. in Experimental and Quantitative Psychology and a B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology.
