Russo and Talenti to present Space, Land, and Time: Underground Adventures with Ant Farm
Assistant Professor of Art + Design Marc Russo will be showcasing his work in Space, Land, and Time: Underground Adventures with Ant Farm on Thursday, Match 8, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Varsity Theatre in Chapel Hill as part of the Ackland Film Forum sponsored by the Department of Communication Studies at UNC Chapel Hill.
Film Synopsis: Before Burning Man, before The Yes Men, before South Park, before flash mobs, there was Ant Farm. The prototypical, underground, culture jamming architectural firm and art and media collective whose antics and anarchic guerrilla theatre paved the way for future armies of free-thinkers and public artists.
“The were the Merry Pranksters of architecture.” — William Menking
The film’s animators, Francesca Talenti (UNC-CH, Communication Studies) and Marc Russo (North Carolina State University, Art + Design), will discuss their roles in the construction of the film.
Admission is free to students with a university ID, $4 for all others. Tickets are available at the Varsity Theatre Box Office. For more information visit: http://bit.ly/AcklandFilmForum
