Printing from Windows in the IT Lab and Clusters

Beginning in Fall 2012, we stopped installing all printers automatically on the Windows side of IT Lab and Cluster computers. This has significantly reduced the amount of time it takes to log in to Windows on these computers.

If you need to print from Windows, you’ll find an icon on the Desktop, All DesignPRINT Printers.

STEP 1: Double-click to open this icon and find a list of all our printers.

STEP 2: RIGHT-CLICK on the printer to want to use.

STEP 3: Select CONNECT to install the printer.

STEP 4: Wait a few seconds for the printer to install.

STEP 5: Open the Start Menu, then select Devices and Printers.

Open Start Menu, then Devices and Printers

STEP 6: The printer will appear in the Printers and Faxes section of this window once it has been installed. It will also now appear in the Print dialog window of any applications you need to print from. Open the application now and print normally.

NOTE: If you already had the print dialog box open, you may need to close it and re-open it before the printer will appear in the list.
