Laser Cutter Certification Sign-up (ClassMate)

The College of Design has three Universal Laser System laser cutters available for College of Design students, faculty and staff only.

Users must attend a Laser Cutter Certification Session before they are given access to use the laser cutters. Certification sessions will introduce users to the safe and efficient operation of the laser cutters.
Use the College of Design ClassMate System to sign up for a certification session. Certification sessions take place at different times throughout each semester in the laser cutter room, Leazar Hall 220A, next to the Materials Lab. Below are instructions for signing up for a Laser Cutter Certification Session using ClassMate.
Laser Cutter Reservations are created using  a different system, the DesignCheckout system. DesignCheckout works over the web from any web browser. There is no need to download additional software. A link to the Laser Cutter Reservations system and instructions are on the right side of this page.

To sign up for a Laser Cutter Certification Session, go to the College of Design ClassMate System. (Return to this window to follow the instructions.)

You will see the following page. You may want to bookmark that page.

Classmate Login Window
Click the Login to Classmate button and use your Unity ID and Password to log in through the WRAP system.
Once you have logged in, you will return to this page. If there are Laser Cutter Certification Sessions or other classes available, they will be listed in the Upcoming Classes box. Select the session you want to attend and click on the Register link for that class.

This page will now appear, providing additional details about the class. Click on the Sign-Up to Attend Now! button to register for this class.

That will return you to this page showing you have successfully signed up for a class. The class you signed up for will also appear in the My Current Events box on the right.

You will also receive an email confirming your registration. And you will receive reminder emails closer to the time of the class.
If you need to cancel your reservation, you may do so using the Cancel link or Cancel Reservation button.

If you find you will not be able to attend the class you signed up for, please cancel your reservation to make room for others. You can cancel a reservation at a later time by logging in to the system again and using the links from the My Events link at the top of the page. A calendar listing of available classes is found from the Schedule Link.
