This project is dedicated to Ronald L. Mace, founder of The Center for Universal Design. Ron passed away in June 1998 shortly before this project began. Ron is widely recognized as developing the concept and originating the term "universal design" to describe his vision of design that meets the needs of people of all ages and abilities. Ron was an accomplished architect and product designer who challenged conventional designs that excluded so many people. The Center that Ron founded in 1989 continues his work to advocate for more universally-usable places, spaces and products in the world around us.
