RED Lab

Research in Ergonomics and Design (RED) Laboratory

The RED Lab is located within the advanced industrial design studio in Leazar Hall. The RED Lab can assess two different aspects of a task or product: the physical requirements of the task/product and the effort required of the person completing the task. Evaluations are performed for market comparisons, product development and solution development.

The RED Lab is utilized by researchers and designers working on federally, locally, privately and personally funded projects as well as student investigations. Positioned down the hall from the College of Design’s outstanding Materials Lab, the RED Lab allows students routinely to test their designs.
