Much of the research in our lab is conducted in partnership with state and federal agencies.  A strong working relationship with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) means that research important and relevant to the state of North Carolina is a focus of many of our projects.  In addition, we work in partnership with groups such as Sea Grant, North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries (NCDMF), and Duke Energy. 

These working relationships result in funded projects that, though based in ecological theory, have important and timely practical implications.  Further, partnering with biologists in these agencies and industries expands the scope of our projects, improves the training of our students, and increases the likelihood of producing meaningful results.
