LINEAR DIMENSION Command:

LINEAR dimensions allow you to place Horizontal and Vertical dimensions onto a drawing.

select Linear from the Dimension Menu,

OR

type dimlin or dli at a Command: prompt,

OR

click on the Linear button on the Dimensioning toolbar.

--Prompt: First extension line origin or press ENTER to select: Select the first end (extension line origin) of the element you wish to dimension.

--Prompt: Second extension line origin: Select the second extension line origin of the element you want to dimension.

--Prompt: Dimension line location (Mtext/Text/Angle/
Horizontal/Vertical/
Rotated): Click the left mouse on the screen to locate the dimension text. THIS PROMPT MAY NOT ALWAYS APPEAR if you use certain types of Osnap.

--Prompt: Dimension text <dimension value>: press ENTER to exit command.
