Where were you when Lorenzo Charles slammed home the dunk that gave NC State the 1983 national championship in basketball? The Bulletin wants to know.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of NC State's Cinderella run through the NCAA tournament, which culminated in a 54-52 victory over Houston in the 1983 national title game. The sights and sounds of Charles' dunk and coach Jim Valvano's celebratory sprint around the court have lived on in NCAA tournament coverage and promos ever since.
So as you fill out this year's tournament bracket, take a moment to share your memories of the "Cardiac Pack" with the Bulletin. Were you a student, faculty member, staff member, or administrator at the university then? If you weren't yet affiliated with NC State, where were you and what do you remember about the game? Did you tune in on the tube, make the trip to the Final Four or celebrate on Hillsborough Street?
E-mail your memories about the 1983 championship season to us at bulletin@ncsu.edu and we'll publish some of your recollections in the April 2 edition of the Bulletin.
