Go Green During Campus Earth Week Celebration

Since caring for the environment and conserving energy are responsibilities shared by everyone, NC State is providing faculty, staff and students a host of opportunities to "go green" in celebration of Earth Day 2008.

To celebrate Earth Day, the university is sponsoring a weeklong series of free events on the Brickyard and around campus next week to raise awareness about environmental issues and sustainability. The week features music, movies, artwork and speeches, and culminates with the Earth Day 2008 celebration on Friday, April 25 on the Brickyard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

'WE Recycle' Turns Wolfpack Green

'WE Recycle' Turns Wolfpack Green

"WE Recycle" is NC State's stadium tailgate recycling program. Started in 2003 as "Chuck It" recycling, the program recycles more than 20 tons of beverage containers each season, making it one of the nation's most productive stadium recycling efforts. The program relies on volunteers cruising the tailgating lots in the hours before the game to stress the importance of recycling to the entire NC State community.
