Title II of the ADA - Public Services - State and Local Governments

Title II prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities in all programs, activities, and services of public entities. This applies to all state and local governments, their departments and agencies and includes NC State University.

It requires that we:

• eliminate any eligibility criteria from programs, activities, and services that screen out persons with disabilities, unless the requirements are necessary for providing the service, program or activity, or employment;
• reasonably modify our policies, practices, or procedures to avoid discrimination.
