Jane: OK, we're ready to make the final plans for the annual conference. Sam, can you update me on advertising and tickets?
Sam: Well, I've updated the text in the flyers and both brochures, and the tickets are already being printed.
Jane: OK, great. Are we going to use the same layout as we did for last year for the flyers and brochures?
Sam: Yeah, although I noticed there was no accommodations statement in either of the two pieces.
Linda: Sam, what do you mean by "accommodations statement"?
Sam: Well, aren't we required by the University to include that if we don't have... or we need accommodations to participate in the activity... "please contact Sam Smith"?
Jane: Hm. You know, I've heard of other departments doing that, but we've never included it.
Sam: But isn't there something in federal legislation about that? I wouldn't want to be in violation.
Linda: Hey, I think you're right. It has something to do with the Americans with Disabilities Act. I took some training about that in my previous job.
Jane: You know, I am so glad that you all thought of this. I would hate to have to reprint 1,000 flyers and brochures. So, let's be sure to include that statement. Linda, do you think you could get Sam the correct wording for the statement by this afternoon?
Linda: Absolutely. I think I have more information about that in my ADA workshop binder. I'll get that for you, Sam.
