Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972

Title IX requires that all educational institutions that receive federal funds or financial assistance must prohibit sex discrimination in their educational programs and activities. These provisions apply to all programs and activities, including recruitment, student admissions, financial assistance, housing, access to academic offerings, and athletics. The Office for Institutional Equity & Diversity is responsible for implementing and monitoring NC State University's Title IX compliance. The Vice Provost for Equal Opportunity & Equity is the University's designated Title IX Coordinator.
